my recommendation is making that a cvar.

main reason is alot of siege players like and/or accept it.

Re: BaseJKA Security Fix

hi, in fact instead of doing that, would there be a possibility of adding PING to the log information for each user?

Much obliged.

Re: BaseJKA Security Fix

actually, a list of IPs is actually rather useful, especially if you cross reference with ping, location and ISP.

i know ur not a dude lol, just a common phrase i use ;)

on a seperate note, is it possible to get the server logs to log ping as well?

Re: BaseJKA Security Fix

dude, your logs are phenomenal, seriously.

the purpose of the extra piece is so we can build a list of IPs vs Nicks so we can catch fakers, hackers and whoever else we need.

and would it be possible so that the text file is actually created on the server (much like the games.log)?

Re: BaseJKA Security Fix

would there be a way of modifying the logs, or adding a new command that makes another txt file that PURELY deals with saving connecting IP addresses and nicks? basically, all that is needed, is that it takes this info: 2318:32Connect request from : \ip\86.71.233.xxx:-10529\challenge\714200483\qport...

Yep, that's a bug I read about. I would have though the limit was around 60 though... A way around that is to not use g_banips anymore, and use a text file instead. I'll probably do that in 1.0f. Meanwhile, just take it easy on the bans ;) There is no point in storing dynamic ips in the banlist for...

plz can u increase the size of the banlist?

apparantly if you have more than 20 IP bans on the system, the server can crash......

maybe adjust that to maybe 2000?

Gamall wrote:Thanks :)

I've also added some other things. I have yet to test, compile for both win and lux, write the doc etc. So let us say I'll release it next weekend.

PS : What does "m8" mean ?
m8 means mate = meight = mate :P

if u want me to test it on my server, i'm all up for it

admin enhancements. as per our chat on the email, i had the idea of (much like JA+) to add a "anti multiple padawan" protection. of course, this would be a 0 or 1 setting in your config, but the gist is this: imagine a typical server: PADAWAN PADAWAN REAL USER PADAWAN REAL USER PADAWAN REAL USER REA...
